services
Twelve services in detail.
Our services cover orthopaedics from examination to surgery. Diagnostics and advice take place in the practice, outpatient operations at the OP-Centrum (surgical centre) in the same building, and inpatient operations at the hospital where Farid Raufi has admitting privileges.
Findings and advice at one appointment
In the practice, we examine you clinically and with ultrasound. Please bring your X-ray and MRI images with you, on CD or as a QR code. We can then discuss the findings at the same appointment.
No images yet? Directly above the practice is Radiologie Giesing, a radiology practice where you can have the images taken.
- 01
Ultrasound of the musculoskeletal system
Ultrasound (sonography) to assess muscles, tendons, ligaments and fluid in the joints, without exposure to radiation. Ultrasound is the imaging method we use in the practice.
Treatment without surgery
We first treat most complaints conservatively. We discuss which treatment is suitable for you after the examination, once we have the findings.
- 02
Acupuncture
Pain treatment with needles based on traditional Chinese medicine. Farid Raufi holds the additional qualification in acupuncture.
- 03
Manual medicine (chirotherapy)
Manual treatment of blockages in the spine and joints. Farid Raufi holds the additional qualification in manual medicine (chirotherapy).
- 04
Osteopathy
Treatment with the hands: tension and restricted movement in the tissue are detected by touch and treated. Self-pay service.
- 05
Spineliner
Computer-assisted examination and impulse treatment of the spine.
- 06
Shock wave therapy
Treatment with focused pressure waves, among other things for complaints where tendons attach to bone.
- 07
PRP and autologous blood therapy
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared from a small amount of your own blood and given as a targeted injection into the affected joint or tissue.
- 08
Hyaluronic acid
Injection of hyaluronic acid into the joint, for example for osteoarthritis.
When surgery is necessary
- 09
Outpatient operations
At the OP-Centrum in the Gesundheitszentrum Giesing, in the same building as the practice.
- 10
Inpatient operations
Farid Raufi operates at a hospital where he has admitting privileges. This means that you are operated on by the doctor you saw during your consultation.
- 11
Joint replacement
Artificial joints for the hip, knee, shoulder, ankle and the joint at the base of the big toe.
- 12
Hand and foot surgery
Operations on the hand and the forefoot.
What statutory health insurance pays for, and what it does not.
We treat patients with statutory and private health insurance. As a rule, statutory health insurance funds do not cover the costs of the following services; you then pay for them yourself. The prices are per treatment. There is one exception for acupuncture: for chronic pain in the lower back (lumbar spine) and in the knee joint, it is covered by statutory health insurance.
Please ask us if you would like to know in advance whether a treatment is covered by your health insurance fund in your case.

Preliminary examination, operation, aftercare: in one place
The preliminary examination takes place in the practice. Outpatient operations are performed at the OP-Centrum in the same building, inpatient operations at the hospital where Farid Raufi has admitting privileges. We then provide aftercare, again in the practice.
No unnecessary treatments or therapies. For every patient, we look for the best and most efficient individual solution.
